Geghama Mountains

This almost evergreen region is a great destination for multi-day programs. In addition to the fascinating nature, meadows, water channels, rivers and lakes, you will come across with Stone Dragons (Vishapakar), and petroglyphs.

Trekking plan:

Day 1: Yerevan - Sevaberd village - Akna Lake (camp site)
Duration:
7-8 hours
Level of difficulty: 4 (on a scale of 1 to 10)
While passing by shepherds camps, be aware of their dogs as they may behave aggressively.
Attractions:
1. Akna Lake or Karbi Gyol
2. Rivers & waterfall to swim in
 

Day 2: Akna Lake - Ajdahak - Petroglyphs - Vishap Lake
Duration:
9-10 hours
Level of difficulty: 5 (on a scale of 1 to 10)
Be aware of wolves & bears.
Attractions:
1. Small mountain lakes
2. Mt. Ajdahak
3. Mt. Nazik
4. Volcanic lake on Mt. Nazik
5. Vishap Lake
6. 3000 years old Stone Dragons
 

Day 3: Vishap Lake - Artis village - Yerevan
Duration:
5-6 hours
Level of difficulty: 2 (on a scale of 1 to 10)
Attractions:
1. a spectacular view of Geghard Monastery Complex
The first village you will get to on your way back is Artis Village also called Geghard Village by the locals.
